Lost In The Spirit Of Christmas
The reality of life is accepting the reality
Of dealing with a socially conscious mind
that challenges the very essence of being a human being
Consciously observing the obvious ignorance
That belies in the profundity of some of the
Most cerebral individuals on earth
Then only to realize that their hearts is filled with selfish wishes and desires
And their level of compassion for the
Least amongst us runs shallower than
The thought process of a four year old child
Who yearns to live in Toys "R" Us for Christmas?
But fails to comprehend that he's not the reason for the season
Even in that cliché I scratch my head
And wonder if he really is the reason for the season
A commercialized holiday driven by mass commerce and capitalism
That only fulfills our ego driven needs and desires
Created by unrelenting advertisers who seek refuge in our
Unwillingness to completely sacrifice our hearts and minds
To those who indeed have a true heart and mind
But they unwittingly find peace and solace in their forsakenness
But in some mysterious ways discover the true meaning of life
In the God we candidly speak about and profess to serving
Serving the chimera that he only truly exists in the empty blessings
False blessings that continue to leave us all morally bankrupt
Because not accepting the reality of life
That comes from dealing with a socially conscious mind for most
Is accepting the obvious ramifications of not actually seeing Christ
In our selfish actions towards the least amongst us
So we just reach far enough to create a misperception
That continues to drive the human moral compass pointing in the wrong direction…
