All I Know
All I know is pain and suffering
Together we all walk in the midst of good company
But we stand divided in a world created by revolution
That's why their communities are affluent
And our ancestors we're excluded from the Constitution
I soak my tears into these unborn spoken words that I'm scripting
They continue to fall into deaf ears of those that I'm not reaching
Can't live off of the struggles of the Civil Rights movement
Change only comes when you realize your situation isn't improving
The world is revolving and we're standing in the quiet darkness
Like Trail of Tears, it's a long road following the deserted masses
And all I know is change has to come within one's heart
Can't continue to blame our problems on the white man
You gotta carry the burning torch and do your own part
It starts with being an African first not an American
History has already been written
No knowledge of your own ancestor's past treatment
Remove the shackles of mental slavery and stop complaining
75 percent born out of wedlock so who are you blaming?
Check the hour on your sun down, the clock's continuously ticking
More blacks kill each other than any other race so stop pretending?
257 years under brutal oppression
No one to blame, it's our own fault so forget about the misconceptions
We are their future and the shit ain't gettin' better
Opportunities afforded by their past struggles ain't gonna last forever
Black agenda driven by political correctness speeches by puppet black leaders
Clothed and judicially charmed by the white corporate media
Selling out our people for any public attention and affection
And that's why it's a constant struggle with so much misdirection
No child left behind got the hood left behind
Promises and false hopes of tomorrow has left us all following the blind
And all I know is we're spiraling down a path that seems contagious
Time to realize our place in history and start turning the pages
If the solution has never been to look at yourself
How are you expecting to find it anywhere else?
