My Mother's Eyes

I've witnessed the pain and suffering in my mother's eyes
Like an embattled general, she has fought in wars only God can comprehend
Leading troops with empty hearts to their own imaginable Zion
Her battle scars symbolizes hope for all who have approached the throne
As darkness settles, her ray of light penetrates through the night like the stars illuminate the sky
And her scriptural words of wisdom breathes comprehension into God's many mysteries
She lifts up and even adorns the most wounded soldiers on the battle field
Turning grief into courage, loneliness into companionship
Nurturing emotions of sorrow and deep emotional wounds of guilt and defeat
She is God's gift to the world, and her life is a testimony on the battle field
A broken vessel, bringing the presence of God to life so many may witness the true image of Christ...
